Remembering Italy

Reflecting on the sketchbook I kept when studying in Italy, 13 years ago...can't believe its been that long.  It brings me right back to our apartment in Florence, the smell of basil and olive oil, walking along the Arno River, traveling by train to Cinque Terre...so much more.  How free and adventurous I felt...and it translated onto paper.  So thankful for that time in my life.

Tomorrow I will begin a new oil inspired by this book.  And I can't wait to go back in spirit.

  1. Gosh, I love Italy. I often think how I will look back on my time there fondly for many many years to come. Thanks for the reminder, especially of the smells.

Erin, I remember these sketches like it was yesterday, can't believe it was 13 years ago. Damn, we still look good!!! You had a vice grip on that book and it traveled with us, kind of like our 4th buddy. Amazing memories! xoxo
